In Morris’
class this afternoon, we talked about ‘’What time is it?’’ this topic. So you
can image Morris can make a funny show for his class, also I gave him a lot of
support. Mentioning many relative questions and themes about time; firstly, I referred
the sentence ‘’Do you have the time?’’ Have you heard it before? Its meaning is
the same as our topic. However, he said this sentence is like ‘’Do you have
time?’’ They are all the same; it’s his answer. I am a little confused that
before I heard someone explained which the sentence with ‘’the’’ is to ask ‘’What
time is it? ,’’ but another one means ‘’Are you free?’’ or ‘’Are you available?’’
About this issue, my conclusion is that he is a man, no matter what he thinks
that! Then I said a special noun ‘’daylight saving time,’’ so coincidently that
it’s connected with his country, Australia. Aussie government ruled each summer
their people should adjust time one hour earlier; that’s to say, in the
practical situation they can have early lunch at 11 o’clock. Because they can
enjoy more sunshine in a day, he explained. I am curious how was it if
happening in Taiwan? Some people change their watches earlier to make use of
time, usually in the end it doesn’t look like very useful, though. How do you
think? You would like to let your time in advance?
